American Electric Power Copper theft from substation outside Baroda

One man is facing charges following copper theft from an American Electric Power substation in Berrien County.
The sheriff’s department reports that the thefts occurred over the past several months, resulting in multiple reports to police.
The sheriff’s department set up a surveillance detail outside the Lake Township AEP substation and in the early morning hours of Monday 25th September 2017, deputies busted a 46-year-old Dowagiac man stealing copper wire from the site.
He’s charged with resisting arrest, larceny, possession of burglary tools, breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and larceny from yards.
