Eskom has lost approximately R1.7 million in the Cape Town since the beginning of the financial year to date. Cable theft hotspots include Inkanini, Zwezwe, Harare, Makhaza and Site B,  Joe Slovo in Milnerton, Gugulethu, Nyanga, Philippi West and Weltevreden Valley.

Copper Theft Causes Major Damage To Cullman Electric Coop Substation And Outages For Thousands

Copper theft inside a Cullman Electric Cooperative substation on Friday 28th October caused thousands of dollars in damage and resulted in more than 3,000 co-op members being without power for more than an hour.
Co-op members served by the Ebenezer substation in northwest Cullman County were without power for approximately 90 minutes while crews replaced grounding wires that had been stolen overnight.

Failed Copper Theft Halts Belgium and Germany Commuters

German and Belgian commuters are learning that even wannabe thieves can have a major impact on train traffic, after services were severely interrupted because someone tried to steal railway cables.
In the failed copper theft 30th October cables were severed, not stolen, but the disruptions still created chaos for travellers on the busy Germany to Belgium via Aachen route.
