According to Porter County Sheriff’s Police sometime prior to 9:28 a.m. Wednesday 18th April someone cut the lock off a gated cell tower facility on C.R. 600N in Jackson Township, then cut the lock off a work trailer and removed a variety of power tools, hand tools, and socket sets belonging to Communications Infrastructure of Austin, Texas. The sheriff did not provide a total estimate of the loss but a company employee put the replacement cost at “several thousands of dollars,” police said.
Then, sometime prior to 2:22 p.m. Wednesday, someone cut the lock off the gate at a cell tower facility on C.R. 500E in Pine Township, then pried open a pair of A/C units and removed two 10-foot sections of copper. Police put that loss at $100.
Thieves forcibly entered a cell tower facility on C.R. 850N in Liberty Township, pried open a pair of A/C units serving it, and removed four rolls of copper wiring. Police put total loss and damage in that theft at $16,000.
