Copper Theft delays power restoration for some areas of St. Maarten
NV GEBE on St. Maarten in the Caribbean issued a press release on Tuesday 19th December. They reported that scheduled power restoration following the recent hurricanes is moving along as teams are working around the clock to restore power to areas still affected.
The company is faced with several challenges in some areas as persons have been stealing the company’s material. On Monday, December 18, 2017, material was stolen from the work site in Nazareth and cables were also set on fire in Spring Garden.
NV GEBE is asking the community to help them by being vigilant. If you see someone who you suspect is not an NV GEBE employee tampering with the company’s property, please call 5461100 5461127, 5461160, 5461189 and 5443100 and report. Continued copper theft will lead to more delays in the restoration process.
