Substation copper theft from Henderson Municiple Power and Light
HENDERSON, Ky. Henderson Police Department charged a man in connection to a recent copper theft investigation 4/13/18
Detectives began investigating after copper stolen from a power substation on South Green Street belonging to Henderson Municipal Power and Light when officers received a call from Henderson Metal Recycling off South Green Street. Christopher A. Fischer, 39 of Evansville, Indiana, was there to sell a “large amount of copper wire”.
Officers stopped Fischer along South Green Street at 9:40 a.m., finding a significant amount of copper wire in his vehicle. A utility worker identified the copper as belonging to the city and Fischer was charged with receiving stolen property (under $10,000), and taken to Henderson County Jail.
