London/Denver Technology Company Cresatech Wins Energy Award For Proprietary Technology CuTS®

CuTS® technology was given top honors last week in Fierce Energy’s yearly awards

Centennial, CO. Energy outage management teams have a resource in Cresatech CuTS®, a suite of proprietary technology that alerts immediately when substation grounding systems have been stolen or damaged.

October 4, 2014

CuTS® technology was given top honors last week in Fierce Energy’s yearly awards for Outage Management. CuTS® detection technology was originally developed to provide immediate alert for real time copper theft, a sometimes devastating crime that has plagued energy companies for years.

CuTS® smartgrid technology from Cresatech has demonstrated wider application than copper theft detection. Currently, CuTs® is being installed at substations across the U.S. and Europe to detect ANY damage to grounding systems. For substations that are infrequently monitored, this technology is critical. With virtually no false alarms, energy companies are alerted immediately when their substation grounding structures are damaged. Damage can come from weather, normal wear and theft or removal.

After being awarded winner in this year’s Fierce Energy competition, CEO Paul Mumford explained, “Cresatech’s suite of products and services greatly improve safety and service continuity in electrical distribution networks. We are working with power transmission and distribution companies in North America and Europe to address the safety and operational impacts of infrastructure theft and damage, both in substations and elsewhere within the delivery network. CuTS® is a cost effective and valuable tool which helps operators mitigate such risks within the distribution network.”

CRESATECH specializes in technology and service solutions that address high cost, high impact operational issues within power transmission & distribution, mobile telecoms, transport and other critical service markets. Our innovative products monitor exposed service sites and infrastructure in a variety of complex operational environments, providing real time monitoring for service interruption and disruption due to removal of copper grounding and other power delivery infrastructure. In combination with our Advantage services, our solutions provide meaningful network wide status and service delivery information, driving improved levels of customer service, reduced site safety risk and reduction of field engineering costs.
